Patricia Elrod-Hill was admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia in 1989. She is a graduate of The School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis, where she was a member of the Law Review and President of the Women Law Students Association. Ms. Elrod-Hill was employed as a Staff Attorney in the Office of Regional Counsel, Department of Veterans Affairs from 1990-2002. At the VA, she practiced health care law, medical malpractice, employment law, and information law. Ms. Elrod-Hill founded the Elrod-Hill Law Firm, LLC, in 2003 and now concentrates her practice in the areas of Estate Planning and Elder and Disability Law. She counsels clients in many complex areas of estate planning, including wills and trusts, estate tax, special needs and Medicaid and VA benefits.
Ms. Elrod-Hill is the immediate past Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, serves as Community Service Chair of the Atlanta Chapter of WIFS and is a Board Member of the Georgia Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is a member of the Leadership Committee of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and served as Committee Chair of the Legislation Committee for the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers and Committee Chair of the Leadership Committee of GAWL. She is a member of the Real Estate, Fiduciary and Elder Law Sections of the Georgia Bar. In addition, she is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Academy of Special Needs Planners and WealthCounsel, a nationwide collaboration of trusts and estates attorneys, tax and business professionals providing in—depth education and drafting assistance to ensure its members have the most sophisticated planning techniques available.
